[This was a regular sitting room a few seconds earlier. Now, it's got a few filing cabinets. Lavi's managed to unlocked one, and is leaning against it with a manilla folder in hand, interrupted in the process of looking through a document

[Looking up from his own book a few comfy seats away - was he there before? Must have been - tilting his head a bit at the collar then looking back down at his book.]

Sometimes it does that, like this place doesn't care if we're in the room at the time. [Hope you don't mind a small silver Tease flitting over curiously, it'll avoid any attacks and flit back over to its owner after a few moments.] It's annoying but you get used to it.

[He blinks at the Tease, since he hasn't seen anything quite like that before. He'd stare at his other version, too, but since he thinks he's dreaming...]

Things change around a lot, huh? I hope I won't be sticking around so long that I'll have to get used to it.

[It settles in his double's hair, something that he doesn't pay much mind to.]

If you find the exit then would you mind telling me where it is? I'd rather go back home myself right now.

If I knew how to exit a dream, sure. I'm not sure how much good that'd do you.

[Pauses, blinks, looks up.]

Kind of hate to burst that bubble but it's not a dream, Lavi. I'm you, you're me, different versions of home, but we still get lumped here. It's...not too bad here, honestly.

It's called the Dressing Room. There's a pamphlet on top of that cabinet you're leaning on. It sucks but it kind of explains things here. Right now we're in one of the neutral wings.

[He picks up the pamphlet and skims it.] ... Some place that drags in people from other worlds, that no one can escape from. Makes about as much sense as anything right now, I guess.

If this is a neutral wing, what wings do I have to watch out for?

Exorcists are in the north, they're generally considered the good guys of this place. And down south are where most of the Noah and their Akuma stay, can't damage them unless you've got Innocence.

Exorcists? Is there some kind of demon infestation around? ... Either way, if they're "the good guys," I'm guessing the rest aren't.

Exorcists get rid of the Akuma, fight the Noah. That sort of thing. No, south wing you want to stay away from. East and west are pretty nice.

Temporarily an Exorcist, full-time Bookman apprentice. Though right now I'm more like a prisoner-of-war at home.

If you're trapped here and there's still a fight going on, it doesn't sound like that much of a change for you.

I've got to wonder what you mean by "Bookman apprentice," though.

No one really fights here, kind of pointless when you reanimate if you die don't you think?

I record history, a bunch of versions of us do. [Though his current book has to do with anything but history. More like psychological tips on how to fall asleep and stay asleep.]
