[Just like last Yule Ball, she is admiring the tree! The DR has outfitted her in its usual fare of fancy evening gowns, but she's making do remarkably well. This is the third ball she's been to in the last year, after all.]
[Always, always. She's not surprised by it anymore, even if some nights that button continues to burn a hole in hers. Shifts on the balls of her feet and glances at him sidelong, the smallest, faintest smile on her lips.] Neither of us really have all that much room to say something like that, do we? You can't have been here much longer than I have.
I remember. [And... hesitating, as he start rummaging in his pocket. She looks briefly clotheslined, expression going from blank to surprised and back again.] ...Why?
[Hush. Don't you smirk at her unless you'd like for her to pry it off.
Lowers her eyes to his hand as he proffers it, a weird mix of anticipation and nervousness twisting in her gut. Lenalee enjoys gifts as much as the next person, though normally she's wont to accept them far more graciously than she is about to, and yet the idea of receiving gifts from people here...
She doesn't want to think of it as pointless. But it certainly is bittersweet.
And the bracelet is lovely, in such a way that she hesitates before taking it and slipping it onto her wrist. She's still for a moment, tracing the beads, then looks up at him with a muted smile.] It's lovely.
Thank you. [Smooths down her skirt, then looks back up at him.] It's been a while since I last saw you this dressed up. You look very dashing, yourself.

I still recall last year's tree as being smaller. I'd draw it for you, but that might end up badly.
[He's still for a moment, head tipped back and hair in his face before he stops and rummages around in his pocket.]
I have something for you.

Maybe it's time she start to acknowledge that.]

[His hand is gloved as he holds it out, unfurling the fingers to reveal a small bracelet] It's not much.

[He pauses as she slips it over her wrist, traces over the beads, and then offers her a smile. One that actually reaches his eyes.]
I found an open market last week. Not that I could find it again...
[He brushes his coat off and slips his hands back into the pockets.]
It looks nice on you.
