it snowed again today. a week or so ago, it snowed, but that was more of a quick flurry followed by something very similar to hail. this morning, it was just flurries, but lasted at least an hour. usually we don't get snow until at least november, or maybe i've just forgotten how it's worked in past years, but winter seems to be coming earlier this ( Read more... )

i would just like to say that if i can't wait until this year's elections are over. if i have to hear one more damned word about who did or did not help provide body armor for the military, i'm going to put my foot through the tv.

i just took the dog to the park. some little kid had made a "snow" angel in the wood chips.

there was a bear. it was in the middle of the road just a mile or two from the campground. we almost drove into it (it was around a curve). it ran away. no one (other than the conservation officer people) has actually sited a live bear up there for at least a couple-three years, if not longer. but it was there. in the middle of the road ( Read more... )

earlier i curled up in bed feeling crappy. sue called. i went over to her place and we hung out and talked for a while. i feel lots better now.

i totally just bought a ticket to virginia... now i need to go to bed so i can wake up to go camping.

so i leave tomorrow morning to go up camping. this is the first time in years that i am not taking a friend with me, for a variety of reasons (most having to do with opposing work schedules). that means one of two things... either it's going to be wonderful and quiet and restful, and i'll come back feeling utterly refreshed and rejuvenated. or, dad ( Read more... )
