HOW IN THE HELL IS THE MAGIC STILL A SECRET? OMG YES. I'm wondering the same thing. Arthur, how can you not know?! Bradley said in an interview that Arthur "found out" about the magic and there was some speculation over whether that means Arthur finds out in this season or just Bradley saying what he'd like to see on the show, but at this point, it's getting ridiculous because the magic's so freaking OBVIOUS.
And the catch is, now Morgana KNOWS that Merlin tried to kill her, but not why. If that weren't true, would she become so evil? Would she turn on them so easily? I think she was already "evil" before. Back when she was ruthlessly planning to kill Uther in Season 1, she showed traces of "evilness". I think that what happened in this week's episode and what you pointed out about her knowing Merlin tried to kill her but not why is pivotal in that now it will turn her against Merlin and not just against Uther. And when she finds out that Merlin has magic too and never told or helped her, shit will hit the fan I think.

but I'm also just a little sad that it has to be this way, because the whole series has sort of shown us that it could have been so different, you know? That's why I found it so sad! That with a little support like Merlin had, Morgana would not have "joined the dark side" so to speak.
I think when he offered his mother's life for a way to stop it he already knew that he would release the dragon. I agree, especially since the dragon said something about him not knowing the weight of his oath.

That's why I found it so sad! That with a little support like Merlin had, Morgana would not have "joined the dark side" so to speak.
