How bout this beautiful poem I found on a14 year girl's journal:

I paint my pictures on the pavement,

the ground is rough.

Rubs my fingers raw and red.

Ground burns like stucco ,

the kind that lines the walls

of all the schools I’ve gone to.

Makes your knuckles bleed,

little red spots

of inverted cottage cheese

congregating on my fingertips.

Tastes like metal,

warm, sweet, liquid metal.

Tastes like growing up ,

like love and sex and pain

and dreams and doubts and glamour

LA’s dusty underground.

Reminds me of this dirty world,

of concrete floors and chain-link fences.
