*hugs* Nice to see you around. :)

And well done on getting an early diagnosis for Sean. That's bound to be a great thing for him...so many kids on the autistic spectrum don't get diagnosed till later on, even in their teens, by which time they've often had a terrible time at school, but knowing almost from the outset like this will make an enormous difference, I'm sure. :)

I have quite a number of friends on the autistic spectrum in their late teens/early 20s and they're great. A bit quirky, but so am I, so that's cool! Thought it might be nice for you to know that all of them are great people with bright futures and I hope things work out just as well for your son!

I look forward to more tales of Ed and Stuart! :D :D :D

Thank you, Eni.
There are so many good services available for kids with this disability in our area, that I am sure things will turn out well for him.

And yeah, the doctor said too that many autistic kids in university are able to be high achievers later on in life.

Hehehe. Ed and Stuart keep me laughing, that is for sure! I'll post their latest antics on Sunday!

*hugs* It is a tough diagnosis to deal with but having it means so much. I am sure you are a wonderful mother and I am glad to hear that a diagnosis was made so that he can now get the help he needs. Shaun has a cousin with mediate to severe autism and it is amazing to see the change he has gone through since he was properly diagnosed.

*big hugs* the best possible wishes for you and yours in this year.

Thank you! *hugs you too* It is hard when one of your kids turns out to be "imperfect". However, this is certainly not as bad as some people have it. I am lucky to have such a great flist as well.

*hugs* I'm sorry to hear that you've been having a tough time. But at least - I know this may be easy to say from an outside perspective - you know what's wrong, and from my experience that's always better that insecurity. And don't even think you're a bad mother! I only know you via the web, but you've always come across as a very caring, loving person. :)

I'm really wishing you all the best for 2007. Happy New Year! :-D

Hey Aranel!

Yes, I knew you were in a similar situation and I really, really want to talk to you about it. I'm going to send you a long e-mail, probably tomorrow night. I need to think about it and write something as intelligent as possible, because I have a lot of questions.

Oh man, I hear you about the public meltdowns! Now when it happens I just tell people what's wrong with him and it's amazing how well they understand. But before I knew what it was, I'd just die a thousand deaths, fearing they were judging me.

Thank you so much and tons of hugs back atcha!!!
