I used to hate football. Ball goes up the pitch, I thought, ball goes down the pitch. Sweaty men kick ball. Supporters punch in each in face. Big deal. Why do people get so excited? Yes, that was me too. Although I've always been partial to a bit bellowing en masse but I thought that's what rock concerts were for.

Thank you for your explanation. There's some sort of big soccer football business about to happen that Australia's involved in soon (unless I've already missed it). This will come in handy. I might even be able to enjoy it now.
