EOD technicians safely handle live explosives on a daily basis. The profession is varied in mission and scope. It is extremely satisfying, but very demanding. (Justin Skots new roommate, don't know if you ever met him was an EOD in the Marines...he went three times...might want to reevaluate your career decision)

...of course I'd rather not, but I'll do what I have to do. Mind you, the Marines and USAF are quite different.

agreed, and that is a good mentality, but you are enlisting in a job that will guarentee you a spot in iraq. I guess I just don't understand why someone would willingly go. Then again I also don't get why someone would join and expect to not go there.

It is noble that you are joining the military, please don't get me wrong on this. I would if I could. I just want you to come back in one piece.

If I were a Marine, you're right...it would guarantee my departure for the middle east, but I'm not going to be a Marine (though it is still likely I'll be going over there.)

and trust me...I want me back with all my pieces intact too. No worries there.
