What a day. What a goddamned motherfuck of a day. Yesterday was cool; slept most of it, then went and did the gaming thing with Whyrl and Bingo - not bad, but not brilliant. Vented my spleen about a bunch of things to em while waiting for the train home; seems I've turned full circle in my moods again and once more, the dam that is my mind has ( Read more... )

Hey Dilph, sounds like your boss is a complete fuckwit (pardon my french.)
Does he ever work there himself? If not maybe he should.
It might be tough but I reckon you should tell him at least half the stuff you've said here, about the unpaid overtime and such and how you really do care for the job. If he's not convinced, in your own time look for another job. Then if you do you can tell him to shove his job up his ass which would be loads of fun.

Personally I'm not surprised he's got all these rookie trainees. How many people would work there long enough to be trained properly. (No offence of course. You've got guts and tenacity sticking it out. Cool on you. :) :)

The 'boss' in in canada currently; and yes, he does work there when he's in the country. The focus of my rant there is the store manager - utterly clueless, the social skills of a rotting fish, and an outspoken bitch of a girlfriend who thinks she knows how the store should be run. He used to be a good employee, by all counts, but the store changed hands and he got offered the managership basically because he'd been there the longest. Bad, bad, bad move. We lost over 10 (experienced) staff during the changeover; that's when I was hired. We're still slowly losing folks, and those we hire to replace last on average, a week and a half. We've hired 12 folks since I signed up; 3 of them are still with the store, and we've lost another three experienced staff since. Those who are still there are mostly there because they don't want the hassle of finding something else; but no-one is happy to be there. Bossman is due back from canada soon; when he gets back, we should have a proper staff-meeting, and I intend to raise my issues with the way ( ... )

I meant the store manager sorry.
