There’s an oak at seashore standing.
Being mighty strong, with leaves deep green,
It has the chain on it descending
That’s made of gold and is not clean.
The chain’s got pieces which are stolen
From god knows whom and god knows where,
As well as pieces faked and rotten -
Of this are only few aware.

FIRE AND ICE
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favour fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
Is also great,
And would suffice.
