I drove a manual car for the first time today. One of my friends had a few to many drinks to drive home so I drove his car. Stalled it about 10 times, missed 1 red light because the car wouldn't move and went through a couple of yellows. Good for the first try???

Last weekend a group of us went up to Mt Hotham for a ski weekend. There wasn't much snow around when we got there but it was pretty cold. Last week I went to Arapiles for a few days with Nick P for some climbing. We left tuesday afternoon and arrived to a pretty empty camp site, only about 3 other tents. It was freezing cold at night and we had a fire going after the first night. I got offered a sessional lecturing job at RMIT for this semester and I took it. Six hours of lectures making as much money as I would in a full time job. I will actually be doing three jobs at once. I start on July 25th, lots of things to get organized until then.

On Sunday Nick, Gunar, Mickey, Tom and I went rock climbing at Mt Alexander which is about 20km south of Bendigo. The forecast was fine 15 degrees, we get there and its cloudy and windy and about 6 degrees. Mt Alexander is all slab climbs where there is hardly any hand holds and you have to rely on you feet, its also pretty crap rock that can break ( Read more... )

Every year the outdoors club runs an anchors course to teach new members how to set up anchors for top rope climbing. Billy and Tim were running the course this weekend with a group of about 8 of us learning. The first day we went through the basic theory and practice putting gear into the rock.
