i got into the english major! that's SUCH a relief... although it was funny, because i called the english undergrad office and asked "how competetive is it really" and she goes... pretty much anyone who applies gets in... as long as you have a 3.0 english gpa and a 2.0 overall, you're good to go. daaaayaaaammmnuh.. i was close to the cut off ( Read more... )

did you know that the people i've talked to outside of america about americans really dislike us? i guess that doesn't come as much of a surprise... but every time someone figures out that i'm american (doesn't take em long) they seem to hold me personally responsible for george bush. it's hard to explain why george bush was voted for a second time ( Read more... )

so, i've left paris qnd am in india - i'm actually pretty fluent in french now, which is awesome, although it's making it really hard for me to relearn malayalam (i can understand just fine, but not speak very well), since i keep starting my sentences in french, and no one has any idea what i'm trying to say ( Read more... )

so, sometime last week i was all weepy and ready to come home... but i guess i'm over that now. i'm STILL not sure if i moved out of my host mom's house, or if i was kicked out, but either way, i'm with family friends now, and they are awesome. i've really never met such nice people before ( Read more... )

so... i'm in paris. it's definitely different than i expected, but it's still very very good. i miss my family, and jenna, and of course mike - but this is an experience i wouldn't give up for the world. i feel super out of touch with pretty much everyone, though - which is a little strange considering what a social butterfly i've been in the past ( Read more... )
