joseph stiglitz said here that the iraq war will cost between $750 BILLION and $1.2 TRILLION, depending on whether we leave in 2006 or 2015.

granted that's a total, not annual, figure, but to put it in perspective, it represents between 6 and 10% of the 2005 U.S. GDP and between 30-51% of the 2005 federal budget (expenditures) ... wtf, man?

did you read the recent new yorker article with her? i like her more tons. thing is, she a couple years ago made some very caustic remarks that made me think she was think she was this hate-filled crazy person (and i liked her!). i just cant remember any more. damn brain slugs.
