Yesterday I was a stand-by pallbearer for Great Uncle Jack.

My Opa and Aunt asked if I could help, since the funeral would be small, family only, and they weren't sure there would be enough able bodies. Jack was my Opa's sister's husband, and I don't  think I've ever met the man. It took me quite awhile to recognize my mum's cousins, his children. I ( Read more... )

I fully understand your ponderings towards life and death, always a mystery both will be until we truely experience it.

All I can say is that he sounds like a wonderful man, and as family, that is something to be proud of. So many families forget.

hey thanks for the support, sassy. He also had the same perfect penmanship from his twenties into his nineties. That is a lost art.
