I talked to my mom last night. she went out to dinner with Matty's mom Kathy and Kathy's boyfriend Jim. Matty's mom has cancer. she told us about it in October. shortly before Matty's grandma died. Matty wasn't even aware she was not doing well. Kathy has this habit of not telling people about bad stuff cuz she doesn't want anyone to worry. ( Read more... )

this is a hard situation, and losing a parent to cancer is very very hard as I had to deal with it last year :(

I think he deserves to know. it may worry him and upset him but he has a right to know so he can do whatever he can to better prepare himself for the possible horrible outcome..the only positive thing i can say about my moms passing is that i dont have any regrets of not telling her how much i loved her or spending time with her. one can still never be fully prepared but it might be worse for him to find out later :( my prayers are with you guys and the family

i know it's hard to deliver bad news, but in my opinion, he should know.
i recently lost my mother without any true forewarning, and the hardest part was not getting to say goodbye or spend some extra time with her.
i hope for the best, and that she's able to pull through and recover, but it's honestly better to plan ahead for the worst.

oh tell him. it might be easier coming from you actually. poor matty, im seriously gonna cry. i hate thinking about death.
tell matty im thinking of him and give him agiant bear hug from me, it has to be the kind that will knock him of his feet and onto a couch, then tell him its from me(when the time is right)
seriously tho, this awful news. i'll pray for matty family

I hope she is able to recover. I do. I don't know what her condition is but I will hope for the best for you all.

I had to watch my mother die of cancer when I was 13.

I don't talk about that...ever.

I don't even know why I'm typing this apart to give you a personal knowledge that I've been there and I know how difficult it is to go through.

all my love,

me
