Sequence Two: Midterm Exam
25. Sunrise
You ask him how he learned how to kiss and he shakes his head, mumbling something you can’t really understand. You ruffle his hair then get down from the bed to prepare breakfast. You hear him giggle and tell you that you’re smiling. You simply shake your head and walk away, telling him that he should get up soon or else you’ll both be late for class.
You cook pancakes for breakfast that morning and, as far as he is concerned, it will always be his favorite breakfast food ever.
24. Dream
You didn’t take it seriously, did you? You almost want to hit yourself for having been mislead by promises. You hide your eyes behind the book you’re reading - you’re reading The Little Prince, and it doesn’t help that the part that you’re reading says I am responsible for my rose - and you act as if you don’t see him walking towards you.
You look up from what you are reading when you are sure that he won’t buy the excuse that you are busy, and you let a small smile form on your lips when you see his fingers entwined with YooChun’s.
And then you hit yourself with the book you are reading - you actually wish that you’re reading something hardbound right now - when they are already some meters away from you.
23. Regret
You’ve underlined the word fine for countless times already and you’ve even highlighted it with your orange highlighter - the sentence reads You’ll pay the fine of 3,000 won for… - and you want to tear your hair out because you can’t solve the last and only problem for this assignment.
You stand from your seat, take a dictionary and flip through its pages until you see the meaning of the word fine.
You just don’t get it.
22. War
You do not need to know such things, you want to tell him - you don’t need to know where he is right now because you don’t care, yeah - and you throw your mobile phone on your bed. You leave you phone there because you’ll be working downstairs and you don’t need it, anyway.
Yet you race back to your room when you hear Polaris playing because that is your ring tone when he’s calling.
21. Frog
You close your eyes when you feel a hand land softly on your shoulder and you will every inch of your body to not act on impulse - that you wouldn’t turn around, that you wouldn’t pin him on the wall just so you’d have him all to yourself, that you wouldn’t kiss him on the lips until he remembers all those promises that he so promised to keep.
When you hear a sob escape his lips, you go against your own beliefs and take him in your arms, and you spend the day like this because this is what forever feels like.
