[ She's out walking again, having spent the last days trying to obtain information. It's a slow process - being reduced to asking around is both humiliating and tedious. She does not waste her time, wishing for miracles. She tries to plan ahead, but her mind isn't focusing properly and it angers her. When she sees him, leaning against a lamp post, she goes still for a few seconds. Action, planning, action, reflection... Just now, none of it matters. She approaches him, her strides quick and maybe, just maybe, a little bit eager. ]
[ The voice is enough to make him completely freeze up, and given his lack of breathing, he might as well be a statue for about fifteen seconds. It's a voice that rings too painfully familiar for him, in more ways than it should. Wesley finally looks up, and the PDA he was typing on slips a little in his fingers, his expression oddly blank, but his voice is weak. Anyone he was still talking to on the Network will probably hear this. ]
[ His tone of voice is familiar, as always tainted with deeper layers that she can't understand or read. Frustrating. But he is here and he is... She stops a few feet away from him, looking him up and down, eyes narrowing. ]
[ His gaze is suddenly guarded, and he stiffens a bit, actually forgetting what he's holding for a moment. This is a shock to the system, after all. Somehow even seeing Lilah was less shocking. Of course, he can't help but think 'Why not Fred?' before he clears his throat, a sardonic edge to his voice. ]
Well I'm not bleeding from the gut anymore, if that's what you mean.

I'm sure you don't know me I don't believe we've talked, but by default I was a member of X-Factor, I suppose you could say I was part of it back home. I won't be staying around though. It has nothing to do with you obviously since I don't know you but I'm not needed there.
[ooc: Layla was invited to be a member due to her being one back home. She wouldn't stay though as her purpose was to watch her members of X-Factor.]

If Jamie trusts you to take care of X-Factor then I'm sure you'll do a good job so I'm not worried. Maybe he'll change his mind eventually. I'm Layla by the way, if we haven't talked before.

I really hope he does. Not that I don't think I'm capable, but it really is his business, and it's better if he manages it. Besides, I don't think this is something someone like him can turn his back on for long.

If that's the way you feel, then it's not my place to protest.
