I know most people who have read the book like and/or tolerate the movies (even with certain unpopular changes that Peter Jackson made), but I've met one or two people who absolutely hate them.
So... is there anyone out there who absolutely hates the LotR movies? This is a completely out of the blue question but one I've wondered about before.

I must admit I'm disapointed about Bloom's interpretation of Legola. I also hate the scene at Helm's deep where he skate on a shield down the stairs and the one where he ''magically' fly on top of the horse (somewhere in the second movie). They made him too much like a Marvel super-hero.
I know they exagerated the cheezyness of the Arwen-Aragorn love story but I guess I`m drowning in Cheez-whiz when I say ''They are so cute!''.
Merry-Pippin as comic relief, that`s fine. Maybe they pushed too hard for Gimly, even if I actually laugh everytime I see him fall from the horse and say ''It was deliberate'' Or when he`s blowing the ghostly fumes in the cave of the dead *LOL*
The big plus for me his Viggo Mortensen, his Aragorn is exactly as I pictured him to be when reading the books.
Loving the movies is my guilty pleasure I guess ;-)

But even he doesn't hate the movies. He's just a purist. ^_~
