William Hung, an engineering student from UC Berkeley, was a reject on "American Idol," but he has rapidly gained popular cult-status (in the United States and Asia) following the broadcast of his audition piece -- which was his rendition of Ricky Martin's "She Bangs."

i have so far been able to avoid every aspect of this performance. my boss kepts trying to get me to watch it. now i will admit to likeing some pretty random and shitty music, but dudue this is just plain dumb.
