I'm a bit confused. When applying for a character, are you applying for both the Disturbed and the sane version? I know you're allowed to say Y/N to the Disturbed question, but...

If I were to say "yes, he's disturbed", does that mean I only play the crazy version, or would I have to play the sane version too?

Nah, you'd only be playing either or! o/ The OU and Disturbed versions are two totally different characters.

Oh, I have a few more questions. Just in case, ya know.

1) What if you're applying for a character who's already insane in canon? Like, say, Sweeney Todd, the Joker (or any other Batman villain, for that matter), Diavolo... Would they live on the topside because they're OU, or would they be placed with the disturbed characters in the Undercity?

2) Okay, so it's possible for sane characters to move to the Undercity. What about the other way around? Can disturbed characters move to the topside, or heck, even visit it for that matter?

Oh, the Disturbed don't HAVE to live in the Undercity. They can live wherever they want, just like the OUs can live wherever they want. Everyone starts out at the same place, topside, but it doesn't cost anything to move below so you can do it immediately if you so desire. Only thing is that your character has to wake UP topside.

Oh, I see. I'm guessing the Undercity is covered by some sort of 'ceiling' and surrounded by a sort of 'wall', with no sunlight coming in right? Does that mean the city only gets its light from streetlamps, or are there like... enormous lamps stuck to the ceiling to make it seem like day?

Also, what happens if a character dies? Is there some sort of revival system like in Luceti, or should we avoid getting our characters killed?

(yes, I'm annoying, I know.)

This is probably a really dumb question, but...

Are we allowed to have open logs?

Weeeee have a money question.

If people got crafty and decided to be roommates to save money, at the beginning of the next month, would their wallets replenish with the same amount of money, or would they automatically get half the rent money that they had been getting before? (That is, is rent on a Becker Heights apartment the baseline of what you get for rent money?)

You'd get the base amount to have an apartment to yourself, whether you're sharing the apartment or not.

Your budget includes enough for incidentals like a few articles of basic (not luxury) clothing, movie tickets or rentals, bus fare, the occasional latte, etc etc. Don't "overspend" and you won't have money issues.

You'll still need to discuss anything that would be considered a luxury purchase with mods, whether it's special clothing, computers, cars, weaponry, a hospital visit, or etc.

I've got a quick question.

Do the communicators translate text? Say, if character A puts something down in Italian, would the other characters see it as English/Japanese/whatever they're most comfortable with speaking and vice versa? And if not, is the text automatically assumed to be English unless stated otherwise?

Another question (sorry!). I've been doing this recently, and just wanted to doublecheck and make sure it's okay. If a character is speaking a different language in an 'Action', 'Audio', or 'Video' post, is it okay to just put it in the header or add a small text note instead of actually looking up a translator and trying to decipher it yourself?

For example.

[When he speaks, it's in a rich Italian]

My god!

((as opposed to))

[He speaks in a rich tone]

Mio dio!

AND if you do decide/have to do it the second way, is it neccessary to put in a small text note afterwards translating what they'd just said? ((ie [ooc: 'My God!']Sorry--it's probably a stupid question, but I've seen games that go both ways, so I just ( ... )

Automatic Babelfish effect. Some of the characters either aren't human or don't speak languages that actually exist (some of the characters from fantasy/SF games, etc), so it seems prudent to just have it all auto-translate to whatever a character's native language is ( ... )

PS - the character who "spoke in japanese" in an audio post -- the Orihime who dropped -- wrote her text in English, and I think that's probably the way to go.

Okay--so, it translates audio, text, and video? Wait--is it the device that's translating, or the city itself gives everyone a Babelfish in their head? (if so, disregard this next part, orz)

And if you are speaking in an action post or something, you would personally have it so that it would be more of an '[speaks in German]' thing than posting the actual language?

Thanks again and sorry for all the issues XD
