Also, on the title of your post, the Kaiser Chiefs went out and joined the broom army in Clapham and Camden, when really they could just have sat back and said "told you so".

They did? Now I regret even more not being able to take time off work :(

I am still mourning the loss of party superstores. Big businesses usually have the ability to recover, but why attack small ones?

I think they will be okay in the end, they have a second store in Sutton and insurance. But whether they'll re-open there, who knows.

Their website says 'sorry this store is closed as it was burnt down during the riots'

So, if you cut off the benefits of someone who's unemployed, how are they meant to live? Is this an attempt to sneak in the death penalty by the back door? :)

Can't comment on the benefits being removed. I'd personally say no they should not be removed, but I'm not a UK citizen who gets them, so.

At the mention of water cannons I have uncomfortable mental pictures of my own country in the 1960s...peaceable black people taking to the streets and having fire hoses turned on them, even children. Because they could have gotten violent, said the white authorities. Makes me ill. I thought we as a planet would have moved on by now. Rubber bullets can injure, seriously. In the Middle East children have died from them. Yes, let's just use them!

Ugh I think I need another liedown.

The removal of benefits is a complex issue. Certainly, it seems unethical to ask the country to pay (or more importantly, use the diminishing pot of available money/housing that could be used on others) for people who have been undertaking criminal actions ( ... )

Its probably also worth noting that while a £60 or £200 fine might seem like a very small amount, for some people that is a week/month's income..

Idk maybe they should boot conservatives permanently because they're kind of directly responsible for this.

Taking away benefits will make things WORSE. How do people not comprehend this?

How exactly are the tories directly responsible for this?

They must take some of the responsibility, along with the rest of the government, who are very bad at governing.

I was disappointed when Johnson said he won't be cutting his holiday short, (despite them lacking a chief commisioner) the police can handle it.
