What . . . what sort of devilishness is this? This must be some conniving plot by the agents of evil to kidnap me! They fear my name and my beauty, and therefore they resort to such underhanded tactics. I awakened to find myself stranded upon this dinghy little bank, with nary a person in sight, a most lamentable condition ( Read more... )

...It's...nothing like that. You're in a place called Memento Eden. Everyone who shows up here has lost their memories.

So these fiends have done the same to countless poor souls? How dare they! I myself shall pursue these miscreants!

...There's nothing we can do. We're stuck here until we get our memories back, and that takes time.

You can't simply give up like this!

Ah, I know! You shall come with me, and together we will seek out those responsible!

Calm down, calm down. There's no need to smite anybody.

How can you be so calm in the face of such danger? We must rally and fight for our freedom!

Because fighting a bunch of people isn't going to get your memories back. We have enough violence going on here already.

Then we shall go on a quest in search of our memories!

Miss, it isn't drugs to the best of the general knowledge. It appears everyone who appears here forgets their life and then gradually remembers again. Though drugs.. perhaps that's why there is a gradual remembrance. If this drug is slowly wearing off then it would fit together.. You could have a point.

Regardless, welcome to the island.

Ooh, that Mephistopheles who planned this dastardly deed! If I should come upon him, then he will again see the light of day!

Mephistopheles? Are you speaking of Goethe's devil?

I speak of the devil who devised this scheme! For him, there shall never be rest!

I thank you most obligingly for your kind-hearted welcome. Though, my name is L'Arachel, not Newcomer. That is far too common for the likes of me.

I knew they expected my arrival! Why else would they have prepared a room?

Fear of your... name and beauty? The divine scourge of demons? How... interesting.

Well, hello. Of course. Are you saying that you do not know who I am?

I believe you were loud enough to ensure everybody would know who you are. For better or for worse.

It is for the better, most certainly. Why, I do not know what I would feel if I did not know my own name!
