I would say go Dell anyway. My brother and the rest of my family has had tons of problems with HP's and almost none with Dell. I think it would be worth it.

Well, I am definitely anti-Dell and everyone in my dorm who had an HP, the kind I want, had no problems.

I loathe Dell. I've had my laptop for two years, and while I've only had one very minor problem with it (part of the casing came loose), their tech support sucks. majorly. I spent forty minutes on the phone last week trying to explain to this guy in India that I need to send in my computer to get the hinge replaced, and what I got in the mail was an unrelated part with absolutely zero instructions on how to take my computer apart and install it. which I guess was okay since it wouldn't have helped anyway.

so it's a good thing their computers are high quality. I love my laptop (inspiron 8600), but hate its manufacturer.
