This is beautiful. They're so lovely and you capture them all so well. I love Brendon's comment about Gabe and William being excluded for too much sex.
These two bits hit me particularly hard, just because: but he would be content to sit and play scrabble with gabe until they drown together. and; pete says, "thank you." for a moment, william wonders if he is drunk but he doesn't have a drink, just a happy grin on his face and a letter clutched in his hand. "you've given us something," he smiles, his words whispered against william's ear as he stands on his toes, bill leaning down to wrap his arms around his friend's body. "we don't have much anymore but you two have given us a home, at the end of the world, no less. i thought it would be hard to find that, but it's been real easy."
So shiny, and as always, wonderfully well written. Thank you. :)
when you wrote last week that the first thought that popped into your head upon waking up was "true to his word, at the end of the world, gabe saporta throws a party" i'll admit, i got pretty excited, because i sensed a kick-ass apocalypse fic coming sometime soon. and this lived up to and surpassed my expectations. your style and command of language are impeccable as always, and this is perfect and desperate and touching. i really liked the imagery of the rain and the floors below them slowly filling up, and how all these musicians are gathering to go out in style, despite the failings of their stereos and even their instruments.
basically, this is the most awesome thing i've read in a while (since your awesome vampire au, tbh) and you amaze me.
i tried so hard to find words to say in reply to this but failed, miserably. you have no idea how much i appreciated reading this after a crappy day of feeling sick and wanting to cry myself back to sleep. since nothing i type into this little box seems adequate enough, i can only say thank you. thank you from the bottom of my heart.
i'm glad you appreciated my gushy comment, i'll admit i was a little embarrassed of myself posting it, what with all the gushing. but really, reading what you write makes me want to write again, despite how i tell myself that i'm not good enough at it, and never finish the things i start, and am too busy. and that is pretty cool.
it made my day, it really did. you should write more! i am going to be very busy soon having a little vacation and then moving back home so i am trying to get in as many fics as i can before life picks up. i'd love to read what you have to write, though, so please do.
This was an absolutely gorgeous, beautiful collection of words and thoughts and feeling. I just imagined the whole thing with a soft sad smile on William's face, because I think he would smile at the end of the world. Just seems so appropriate. And Gabe, too, even if he's not quite as all over as usual, I bet his party would be the best the world ever saw anyway. Just for the sheer factor of it being all of them together one last time. I love the way the characters all kind of popped up to say their peace, just felt like you captured all sorts of perks and quirks for the lot of them. Pete's thank you to William made me smile, even though it was really kind of sad. Marvelous writing. Thank you so much for sharing. <3
i noticed after i wrote it that gabe was a little toned down but then, the whole tone of the fic was very slow and calm so i like that he doesn't stick out like a sore thumb (even if he does a little bit) his party was amazing and he was entertaining the masses before he whisked bill away. anyway, i'd feel strange saying you're welcome so i will settle for thank you. just you reading it makes me happy.
