I've always dealt poorly with criticism. A little bit of pushback and I have a tendency to crumple like a paper cup. I think most of that is because, deep inside, my inner critic is already hard at work setting up the arguments so when I hear them I already know they're right. I know how this is ... and the conflicts the inner voice manages to rake up .... well atleast mine does .... Ahemm I have managed to stop listening to it always .. I mean mostly ... Maybe sometimes ....Now you see what I mean !!!

I guess we should worry more when our inner voice is NOT harsh. That tends to be a sign of narcissism!

But a little balance between, "It's never me! I'm awesome!" and "I am a lowly, puling worm" would be nice...

Your post cheered me up today. So I buried my internal critic just a little bit to say thanks for that. Unfortunately, he dug his way out of the grave I built for him and is now following me around extra-dirty and zombified, but we cope with these things. An engrossing entry that speaks so well to the audience that it's scary.
