I'm waiting on my cool new biker jacket. I'm a style mixer in this as well - I prefer a white and blue street-style jacket with my cruiser bike. It's good to be me. :)
There is danger in anything. More danger on a motorcycle than in an auto, yes. But it's also quite unlike any other road experience. Good training, experience (I've been riding bikes off and on since I was in high school) and being very aware and vigilant are important. Riding a bike is nothing like driving a car - it's a much more active, involved experience.
With my home refinance, I paid for almost the entire monthly payment, and the bike will be paid off in less than five years. :)
This is something I have thought about - I don't have a backrest yet, but I'm considering it for purposes of attaching luggage (I don't want saddle bags). For someone special, I'd be willing to take a brief ride around the block (or down the street). :)
I've had company for the last two weeks and miss you! I'll call you later on this week after I've gotten caught up on things - I'd love to visit (you can come here or I can go there, either way). *hugs*
Last time I was on a bike was however many years ago in Laconia. I rode on the back of this really hot woman's bike. Rwwww (that's supposed to be like a growling/purring sound.)
I used to think about learning myself but now I'm too old and too scared. ;p
Please give me a call whenever you get a chance. I picked up a couple hours at Mothers and Company starting Thursday. It's p/t so I can keep my MassHealth and I get to take Lexa. =] Hope these last two weeks have been fun for you.
I'll call you. We'll get together when you can - I'm glad to hear you get to get out of the house and work a little and take Lexa with you. Sounds great!

Incidentally, so how much would you have to fork for it?
