...and an update you will have. well i have been here 3 years in april. a lot has happened, perhaps a bit too much for a single human nervous system. before i even got all my possessions to this side of the big blue, she was whoring around, m. i suppose i found that out only last summer, when after much odd behavior and lie upon weak lie, she ( Read more... )

Hey! I'm glad to see you're (mostly) enjoying yourself over there. Every now and then I wonder how in the world you are. :)

hi there. no, i am still adjusting is all. i went through a transfusion of life. it is expected that it will be tough these first several years, as i adjust to the new language...and it has been the hardest thing i have ever undergone. it does not help when the person yoiu moved for betrays you. now things seem to be readjusted and slowly getting back on track. glad you wrote molly. ill peer into your journal later. i don't get on much. it was only by slight chance that recalled my pass to this damn thing. i hope all is smooth in your world.

well hi jaime. damn. yeah it has been a long dong time. but hey i really appreciate that you did drop a line. it doesn't matter how far apart communication becomes. it only matters that the friendship is still there when you correspond again in the future. shitty news about your apparent hard times the past couple yrs. at any rate, i hope you see some glimpse of a new horizon now at least. please take care. drop a line any ol time... or decade ;¬)

It is nice to hear how you are doing in Sweden, even though things did not work out with the girl that brought you there. Lia has an old friend in Norway that we talk about visiting someday, and whenever we do we always end up asking ourselves "Hey, wonder how DJ Emptyx is doing?"

Even though the telecom job did not pan out, I think you should still look to use your English to your advantage there. As far as speaking Swedish, one trick that Lia did when she came to the States might help you in Sweden. Lia made great efforts to not speak Greek with her fellow Greeks in the universities she attended in America. It greatly helped her both conversationally and in reducing her accent. If you want to become more fluent and conversant in Swedish, you should try to focus more on Swedish at home and outside of work rather than English.

Wish you two the best of luck, and let us know if and when you visit the States. We are back in Dallas, and would love to see you if you come down here. Best of luck.

hey J! thanks for writing my man. i appreciate the tips. i will say that it is very necessary for me to speak english somewhere for the time being. you see, when i came here i did not know ANY swedish whatsoever. i started from the ground up and i have only had a year and a half formal education in the language. the problem i am having at work is that, because of the generally anti-social culture here..(compared to living in the states), it has been very difficult finding people who want to converse at work. my swedish is only at the functional level but the least anyone could do is to have a small conversation with me, which i am completely capable of managing. malin and i sometimes speak swedish to each other at home as well. we mostly speak english because we make ourselves (both) very well understood with this language. it can be a real headache to need to get something off your chest to your loved one but be constantly stumbling over appropriate vocabulary and such to get the point across. sure, when we cook or do small tasks we ( ... )
