I told my boss and good friend today that I was discouraged and needed a couple of mental health days as soon as possible. I really busted my hump this month to make things happen and unfortunately the nature of my business is that you don't know until much later whether or not you're just spinning your wheels or actually making money ( Read more... )

all work and no play yadda yadda yadda.

the question i have to ask you is simple.

what have you done for yourself lately? true, sounds selfish, but if you dont take time out for yourself and relax, youll burn out.

doesnt have to be much, a bath with a good book. walk in the park. im a personal fan of kite flying ;) but find something that works for you. its amazeing how well it works.

That's good of you man. I appreciate you taking the time to post that. I may just take you up on that sometime soon.

Just trying to get my feet back from under me. I hit a wall today and my nose is bleeding into my mouth, I see little birdies around my head, and I swear there is a leprechaun sittin on the wall throwing rocks at me.

Yeah, what he said. The thing to watch out for is privately owned business' in which one guy is at the top. Even if he's flush and making scads of cash now, there was a time he wasn't. And therefore he still operates his business from that point of view. Keeps as much as he can gives little back to the employees and when he does give you something he wants to be recognised for being a great guy even though what he gave you was less than what any publicly traded company gives their staff.

Even outside sales, which has the freedom of allowing you to drive around on your own time, still has clients that expect to see you.

Take your time and do a little research. Look into the top 100 companies in Canada see if they appeal to you. Or just look at the job postings out there see what kind of sales job you want.

You have good sales skills and five years experience there is no reason you can't be bringing in 50K after bonuses plus car allowence by next year.
