New poll about reading.

Now I don't believe everything I see in polls, because the questions can be asked to get the answer desired. Pollsters are tricksy people. In this case though, I am going to accept the poll at face value, the question seems straightforward enough ( Read more... )

LOL. Nah, it's more likely that we'll all be literate, but the only available book will be the Bible. More Twilight Zone than Asimov.

55% of Americans think Evolution is wrong and that God created everything within the last 10,000 years. Recent polls I've found show little change, within the statistical variation of this poll. Part of it is a matter of belief I realize but in order to do it they have to basically ignore all scientific findings on the matter for the past 150 years.

It doesn't really /surprise/ me, remember, I work at the mall. That place is an epicenter of stupid. But it is shocking to have it staring me straight in the face like. I know the public school system sucks, but I would have thought it could do a little better job at teaching people basic science facts and critical thinking skills. Some days, I really do wish I didn't live in the same country as these morons.

It just makes me mad. I want a machine that will allow me to simultaneously bitch slap all Americans while saying, "Wake the hell up stupid!".
