Thank you! Lost this piece when I double tapped! 😦 I had a longer more fleshed out version of this... But alas, my twitchy fingers wanted to put my memory to the test!
Glad to see you my friend. 💛🐁✌

Oh, honey, please don't feel bad. I didn't mean triggered in a negative context. I just mean in a sort of "pushed the button" manner, where the story brought back a ton of memories. My brother is very much a part of my life now - my husband actually asked for HIS blessing before asking for my hand in marriage, and though our childhood wasn't easy, we have grown into (mostly) functional adults, so please don't feel like I meant to cause you any distress with my comment. Your story gets my vote because it called to mind my brother as a youth (though he was older than me and my sister, and took it on himself to be the man of the house to protect us from the actual man of the house.)

I'm so sorry all of this was real, and that you and your brother suffered so much because of your father's refusal to fight his demons instead of trying to hide from them. :(

When I was eleven I realized he was the town drunk, was not a proud moment. The main reason he drank was the Korean/Viet Nam war. Not an excuse- just why. 💜🎃✨✌🐁
