Oleander looks like Near. The baby has her upturned nose and large eyes that promise to be gray. The soft fuzz that qualifies for hair is so pale blond that it might as well be white. Mello finds himself disturbed and proud when he sees all the milestones the infant makes. OP of the original pregnancy fic here, and I have to say I loved this and the sensitivity with which you treated the characters.

My favourite thing that you picked up on was the gender theory! I don't know how deliberate it was in this fic, but it meant a lot to me... Near actually quotes a passage from Dworkin's Pornography in the first fic, so having Near raise her daughter with gender-neutral clothing and toys was an absolutely perfect fit. I don't know if you knew that was what I was going for or if you just guessed it, but it really made this story for me :D
