Misa comes over after school most days now. Mom doesn't like it much, but Sayu doesn't worry about that. She said that Misa is a student, tutoring her for exams, and if Mom thinks that no responsible student ever looked like that, well, she can't prove anything, can she? And there'll probably be trouble when Sayu gets her next report card and the effect of doing all her homework at break time or on the subway or after Misa's left catch up with her, but Sayu doesn't care about that, either. (After all, if Dad can literally not show up at home more than one evening a month because he's catching the bad guys, than what Sayu is doing can excuse anything.)

So. So Misa comes over and she's always wearing the prettiest dresses, really cool gothic lolita stuff with lace and ribbons. Sayu feels like a dork saying every time wow, Misa-Misa, I love your dress! or your shoes or your skirt but she does, no one else she knows ever wears such cool outfits. Misa always giggles and, when they're up in Sayu's room, will say something like "Misa

Sometimes Sayu lets Misa write a name, or she grabs coloured pens and they take turns writing them in all the colours of the rainbow. Doing that sort of stuff helps. When Sayu was doing it on her own, she always felt kind of sick and shivery and when she got ink all over her hands - which she always does - she'd have to go and wash it off right away and even through she scrubbed with the soap it felt like she'd missed spots. She told herself that Dad and Light probably felt scared sometimes when they were doing their super-important police work but they didn't just run away from it and hide. And that this is better than what they do because she just sorts people out right away. But it was still scary. It didn't stop being scary til Misa came along

Misa grins and comes to kneel in front of Sayu, and then she just leans forward a little and kisses Sayu gently on the lips. She tastes of strawberry lip gloss and her mouth is very soft and wet and what's weird is that the dampness of it seems to spark off a signal in Sayu and warmth jolts all through her. It's almost scary but at the same time it's really nice, and, not wanting the kiss to end, she sort of kisses back against Misa's mouth. It's awkward and makes breathing funny and with anyone else she'd feel really stupid, but Misa never makes her feel stupid

"You can... you can carry on making me happy," she whispers. She feels like she's buzzing all over, like she's going to burst, like there's a lightning storm inside her. "If... if you want." But she doesn't mean if you want, she means now, please, do it more, and she almost digs her nails into Misa's arms to make her carry on. Misa laughs like she knows all this - she probably does - and pulls Sayu closer and then she slides a finger up Sayu's leg. It's tickly and yet at the same time it's a lot more than that and then suddenly Misa is touching her under her skirt, first through the cloth of her panties and then behind it, caressing her, pressing a knuckle against bits of her she'd forgotten she had and it's like those bits burst into flower or something, change and grow until they're nothing like what they were when she got dressed this morning. She bites down on her lip because her breath is going all shaky and moaning, and Misa kisses her throat, and then she whispers, "Kira-sama is so special to Misa

This... was so, so perfect. I'm not sure how you managed to pull off writing something so cute and sweet and sensual whilst still making it very, very creepy, but it was brilliant. I think part of it was the contrast between narrative style (slightly stream-of-consciousness, utterly teenage girl) and the subject matter. Brr. I also loved the little touches like Misa hardly remembering Light's existence. Gorgeous, anon. <3
