Wheeee thanks. And yeah. She WAS useful. Just in... lots of ways. Like making him feel good. :3 (Not that Light is one for warm-fuzzies, but. a soft spot is a soft spot.)

He just likes to rationalize any human emotions by finding some non-human reasons for them. Like desperately trying to find a way to let Sayu live during that whole fiasco; in the manga Ryuuk is like "oh, so you DO care about your sister, don't you" and Light is all like "psh it works better for me this way anyway, because my plan blah blah blah. cough."

I'm certain he had similar feelings about keeping Misa around. Just that they also involve sex.

Awesome! You really caught the weird nature of their relationship - fucked-up, but kind of close in a not-close-at-all-way. Yeah.
