Rem x Light

I’m just kinda curious to see what would happen if Rem was Raito’s death god instead of Misa. Because the only reason why Rem was in the human world was because Jealous died for Misa, so what would happen and what would change if it was Raito who Jealous loved and not Misa? And in turn Rem saved Raito and not Misa - or whoever got the death note Ryuuk dropped.

WANT! This is all kinds of epic AU. It wouldn't even be a stretch for Light to have a stalker for Jealous to save him from, admired golden boy that he is. And we know from the manga that Rem does come to support Light-as-Kira to some degree. And who would find Ryuk's note? Oh, the possibilities.

What's interesting is that the shinigami who follow Light and Misa reflect their respective personalities: Rem and Misa are both emotionally invested, while Light and Ryuk maintain a detached approach (Ryuk obviously more so than Light). It would be really fun to mix it up. I can just see Rem trying to mother Light and Light getting all bitchy about it.

This request is beyond awesome, and I really, really hope someone writes it.
