NearxL, with Near the age he is when we see him. You can agebump him or make an AU, whichever you want. L initiates the encounter fully expecting to top Near, since Near is all quiet and stuff, but Near is full of surprises and turns the tables on L. L's not really happy about the idea, but Near doesn't care very much. D= Bonus points for L questioning the morality of sleeping with his (much younger) successor, but doing it anyway.

OP, clarifying: "the age he is when we see him" = his age for the majority of his appearance in the story... I don't know exactly how old, but seventeen-ish? Something like?

Eighteen.

Near is 13 when we first see him and 19 when we last see him (21 in the one-shot). So he's anywhere from 13-19 at any given point in the anime. I would go with 16 for a nice in-between.
