I started when I was studying speed reading using the Evelyn Wood method. It's not as difficult as it sounds, as long as you devote a few days to doing almost nothing but studying.
Oh, and almost all of my classes are humanities; it would be considerably more difficult if one was taking organic chemistry or the like.
