Supposedly hard liquor helps, though maybe you've already tried that. I remember tooth pain being so bad I was ready to get some ice and a pair of pliers and do some home dentistry.

Dental pain is so much worse than back pains, maybe bc it is a sharper pain? I hope you are able to get relief as soon as possible.

I think the pain scale is useless for anyone who has chronic pain bc after so many years of daily pain we don't always notice extra pains until it gets really bad. My stomach lining was one huge ulcer before I realized the gut pain was worse than usual. The Gastroenterologist kept questioning me as to the pain I'd been feeling and for how long. He was stunned that anyone could have had an ulcer this bad and not be aware of it until it was ready to rupture.

I've experienced childbirth without drugs, a bowel obstruction, and a tooth that needed a root canal. All of which I'd rate a 10 for different reasons, but the tooth one was the one that made me want to eat a bullet.
