So I'm watching Inside the Actor's Studio with Johnny Depp, and it's over, and the commercial break starts. All of a sudden, there's a clip of Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face, dressed in black, where she's dancing in the cafe. hold your horses there, dan. gazillions of companies have tried to "resurrect" audrey hepburn, but it's never the same thing. if those purses with her pic on them that they've been selling at the French Market for four years haven't killed her rep, then a little Gap inspiration won't bury her either. classic is classic.

Well no, obviously no one can kill Audrey's rep. That's not the issue here. The issue is that an enormous portion of our generation is going to start thinking that Audrey is cool, not because of her grace, beauty, and iconic status, but because Gap tells them she's cool. I bet at least 78% of people our age who see that commercial will have no clue that it even is Audrey; they'll think it's just some retro-ized footage of a skinny girl dancing. THAT's my problem.
