Looks like the whole 'not calling in to work' thing has paid off.  The GM's assistant is leaving, so Juan is taking her place and I'll be taking Juan's as front desk manager.  Unfortunately it will most likely be salaried, which means that I'll probably be at work even more, and will lose my overtime.

Somehow, this masterpiece is already in the cheap theaters.  We're going to see it at 6:30p on Wednesday.  Anyone up for it?  The theater is on Oracle at the Foothills Tucson mall.

Portal and TF2 are running on wine!  Who needs Windows?  Next step is to try to get the Commander Keen series running... I miss those games!

That was some rain an hour ago.  It was practically heading sideways.  Our parking lot is flooded and about six people walked in at about the same time for rooms.

My favourite team, the Adelaide Crows, will be taking on the Geelong Cats on Friday, July 4th.  Coincidentally, that will also be the first day that live streaming of all AFL games will be available online for the United States!  I'll be signing up for the service and watching the game.  Anyone interested in watching a completely crazy football ( Read more... )

I've been telling everyone how bad-ass Aussie Rules Football is.  Well, here's a nice little clip to prove it.
In the NFL this would be considered "unsportsman-like conduct" and given a 15-yard penalty.  Then, the player would be booted out of the stadium and suspended for a couple of games.
In Aussie Rules, it's just another day on the field.
