Lecture 13: Welcome to my Kingdom

Dec 28, 2011 10:58

[The Doctor has experienced quite a haul for Christmas. Not only did he get what appeared to look like a stone throne, he also received just the thing he needed to speed up his base's construction: a digger battle robot. It seemed to respond to his command just fine. Perhaps it was just as susceptible to the Demon Crown's power which, admittedly, ( Read more... )

Shut up.

[Yet another psychopath making advantage of a stressful situation to bother people.]

Even if we are fools that require a leader, what makes you think we will succumb to you?

Unlike you "defenders of order", I'm quite proactive in what I do. This town's resistances are all reactionary and well, that is what it means to defend, isn't it?

I will usher in a new order within Mayfield. I feel it would certainly be better than what we already have right now.

You sound more like a megalomaniac than an actual leader. Tell me--has anything you have done up until now, "proactive" as it may be, actually worked?

Must a leader lack ambition? No, of course not.

All I have been doing until now has been nothing but research. You can't expect me to raise a revolution without understanding my surroundings. How futile would that be? But if you want results, miss, then very well. In time, I shall grant you your results.

And what would those results be?

[She is not sure she will like the answer.]

Consensual and utmost loyalty from the mass public.

Good luck getting that.

[Her voice is dripping with sarcasm.]

And how do you propose to earn their loyalty?

Why the interest? You clearly doubt my efforts.

So that I will know whether or not I need to stop you, and when.

[This man is certainly malicious, but she does not know whether or not he is dangerous.]

What I would prefer is assistance, but it seems we already have a mutual distrust of one another. At least we found something to agree with, hm? See? Already we're starting to understand one another.

...I suppose I could agree with you on that. But I will never truly understand you twisted people...

Why do you say that I am twisted?

Was this conversation not enough? You mock the honest efforts of the town's defenders as well as values that every human should hold dear. You demand loyalty, and yet offer no prooof that you are deserving of it.

[At least he has not murdered anyone...yet.]

I believe most of the rest of this town will agree with me.

Do you realize that it's the rest of the town that was called on to murder its own? And they went with it. All I'm pointing out is the hypocrisy behind this.

The same people who would defend order to the very end have been guilty of forsaking their allies. Is this something that you approve of?

Not me.

[She feels a little rush of pride as she says this.]

If you had checked, you would have found that I was defending my allies the entire day.

[Though she perhaps would have been those hunting down and killing others had she not made those notes.]

Then be proud of yourself. But the same does not apply towards the many in this town.
