[for Ronon--backdated to February 1]

Jennifer hadn't expected to be delivering a baby on her shift--much less two babies--but it had been thrilling and wonderful even with the undercurrent of family tension going that Jennifer hadn't really understood. The mom and the babies were healthy and resting comfortably, and that was the important thing. (Jennifer had her doubts about the ( Read more... )

"Hmm." She looked at him thoughtfully. "Seems like you not being able to sleep is kind of a regular thing," she said, "or was I just imagining you and Sheppard beating up on each other the other night?" Hopefully he wasn't coming down with something, though Jennifer thought that unlikely; Ronon's infirmary visits had usually been the result of fighting, whether in practice or in a battle as opposed to actually being ill.

Ronon's sleeping schedule had been erratic on Atlantis but it was easier to hide it in the big city and it was much better than it had once been. But he could gloss over that by answering the question honestly. "Wasn't sparring with Sheppard because I couldn't sleep," he said. "Sheppard's been like that since Teyla vanished."

That somehow wasn't a surprise. Anyone with two eyes could have seen how close those two had been, both here and back in Atlantis. "And beating him up helps?" Yawning again, Jennifer added, "I need food, and a shower, and a nap. It's been a long night." She was just too tired to actually make a decision about which should be first. "The kitchen is closer, so I guess food wins. Did you have breakfast?"

"Yeah. It helps," Ronon said, with a shrug, "tires him out, stops him thinking." Sheppard has been known to pretend he doesn't think much. Ronon knows better. He shrugs at her question - he could eat, he also knows that if he was hungry and tired that showering could wait until he was done. "I could make breakfast," he offered. "If you want to shower."

Jennifer was surprised by the offer, and her face lit up in a grin both because her cooking was really bad and Ronon's was much better, and also because she just liked spending time with him. "Really? Oh, you are a lifesaver." She had skipped anything resembling dinner in the bustle of baby activity, and now that the adrenaline was wearing off she was ravenous.
