Jennifer was exhausted. They had been going for hours, not running, but walking a lot faster than she was used to, and with the stupid rope around her wrists she was off-balance and clumsy, especially with him dragging her along. He was a lot bigger than her, and stronger, and she couldn't shake him off. "Can I at least rest for a bit?" she asked ( Read more... )

There was a reason John didn't like giving people the whole Welcome to the Island speech, and most of that had to do with him being around when they showed up. Like that time Teyla popped up out of thin air on the beach. Or that time Daniel did.

Or the woman who was now occupying a bed he'd been in only a few seconds ago.

He'd gotten up to get dressed, steeling himself for the walk up to the compound - his knee still hurt if he taxed it, even if he wouldn't admit it out loud - and barely got his pants on before turning to grab a shirt.

This was so not right on so many levels John didn't even know where to begin. ...well, maybe putting his shirt on first before trying to wake the bound and passed out woman in his bed might work. When he finished with his shirt, John ran a hand over his hair and sighed.

Limping the two steps over back to his bed, he tried shaking her awake. There was no way this would end well.

It took Jennifer a minute to wake up, another minute to focus, and when she realized who it was that was shaking her awake she sat straight up, blinking. Her head was pounding from the force of the stunner, but that was no match for her complete confusion.

"Colonel Sheppard?" She started tugging at the ropes on her wrists, but they didn't budge. "Where are we? Where's Rodney? and Ronon?"

John wasn't sure which confused him more; the woman looking exactly like Kaylee, or the fact that she knew him. At least the second meant there wouldn't be anything awkward. Or involving possible bodily harm.

"Yeah, how about we get you out of that first," he said, wincing at the rope burn she was bound to get if she kept going on that way. "It's a long story, you'll wanna get comfy first."

She dropped her hands to her knees and stared at him. Something about this was just not right, though she couldn't put her finger on what it was; Colonel Sheppard was looking at her almost as if he was as surprised she was there as she was surprised to be there. "O...kay," she said uncertainly, and looked around in confusion. It wasn't Atlantis, that was for sure, but it didn't look like the structures on M33-985 either.
