Turkey thoughts...

I have acquired the equipment necessary to deep-fry a turkey and have done so on several occasions. The turkey was moist, delicious, and cooked in about 45 minutes. I am a vegetarian but a long time ago I cooked turkey, never deep fried one. But, I would recommend buying fresh, not frozen. I know they are more expensive, but then you won't have any possibility of frozen turkey cooling your fat, or moisture left over from frozen turkey getting into your fat and causing excessive splattering.

Good points. I always buy fresh, but frozen works well, too, if you thaw it out and make sure that the turkey is as dry as possible. I usually pat mine down with paper towels.

BTW, "vegetarian" is an old native-american word. It means "bad hunter". ;-)
