(Partial cross-post to Romancing CASomewhere east of El Paso towards midnight on Monday, a large SUV came roaring up behind me and rode my bumper for awhile. The $2010 Challenge car still is not on the road.
We're down to a few things:- The hole in the radiator - waiting for a friend to recover from Burning Man to braise it...
- Two busted drive shafts - dropped off with my mechanic friend to see if he can make one good drive shaft out of them

The $2010 Challenge car progresses. There have been setbacks which require creativity to recover, but over all, it's still within my anticipated timeframe. The busted ignition cylinder turned out to include a shattered wiring harness, so we're replacing a $600 setup1 with $20ish worth of rocker switches, a start button and a few feet of wire from ( Read more... ) -
