White Light White Heat White Halls [BPRD Hospital] ((Open Thread))

The Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense is, in some universes, still sort of kind of quasi a little bit secret. This means that they like very much to keep track of their agents and the people connected with them, especially when they've just come bounding in from hell dimensions carrying god knows what diseases or terrible demon ( Read more... )

Speaking of Becky... it's about a day later, but she does show back up to check on Liz, having swapped out her scrubs for a t-shirt and shorts, her bandages and first aid spray for a fluffy brown teddy bear holding a heart filled with candy, and a small vase of tiger lillies.

She pokes her head in, and peeks around. Liz, currently, seemed to be deeply asleep. Seeing as she deserved all the rest she could get, Becky quietly creeps over to her bedside table to put the presents down, then turns to leave.

Liz makes a noise like 'hrrgghhaahgh' and starts awake. It's obvious for a few seconds she doesn't know where she is, and there is a copious amount of thrashing.

"...oh. Hi, Becky."

An auspicious beginning!

Becky starts right back! She turns around.

"Hey!"

She walks back over to Liz's bedside.

"How are you feeling?"

"Like I spent quality time in a wheat thresher. But definitely better than if you hadn't helped us out." Liz struggles to sit up a little, pushing the hair out of her eyes.

"And--well. I kind of." She wishes Henry was there; every time he has to go for tests or whatnot things get a little scary.

"I'm, uh...I'm adjusting, I guess."

To the medical staff at the BPRD Hospital:
Along with this letter, please find a large basket of fruit and chocolates for yourselves and another one for the patients. They need cheering up and you all deserve a thank-you for your help. Also, there should be a Nintendo and some games coming in the mail.

Once it is possible and safe for all parties, I would appreciate an opportunity to visit with your patients.

Yours,
Hermes.

A baffled receptionist sends a note back!

Visiting hours are from 4-7 PM. Barring unforeseen complications most patients can be visited at your discretion and their comfort.

At some point between 4-7pm, Hermes arrives with a large bunch of flowers for the nurses and a smaller gift for Liz.

The nurses beam and flutter around Hermes. He's just such a darling, like that charming pyrokinetic boy who calls them 'babe' and 'cutie.'

And speaking of people who would cause large explosions if called by those names, Liz is actually awake this time! They woke her up to feed her, which was something she looked forward to the tiniest bit until said food turned out to include peas. Insert hospital food joke here.

Here's Liz, in the hospital again.

Claire repeats her past performance, to some extent. Liz gets a flower pot with a few daisies in it and a fifth of bourbon, and there's a cup of chicken soup and a turkey sandwich for Henry.

Must be a Tuesday.

Liz will appreciate these things when she is awake, unless Claire is sticking around, and then she is probably having spastic fits again.

That'll match well with the spastic flail Claire'll have when she apologizes for, oh God, not hearing about this at all until it was almost over.

She's sticking around for a minute to read Liz's chart and see how okay she is, but that's about it. No sense in maybe waking Liz up.

Painkillers plus the echoes of the headache of a lifetime, literally, make for a pretty woozy Eileen Galvin. But even though her knees are still kind of made of jelly, and even though sticking with Henry 24/7 sounds like the most fabulous idea in the history of mankind, Eileen's awfully worried about the others on the ward. Her own injuries had been painful rather than serious, so she starts making some rounds when she can. She's capable of walking, so walk she shall. A note is left for Henry, brief but prominently placed. "Checking around on people, be back in just a little bit. I'll see if I can acquire some newspaper too. -Eileen ( ... )

"Is everyone going to be okay?" Cheryl asks.

She's standing in the doorway.

Eileen starts to jump out of her seat before she's reminded of what a crappy idea that is. Instead she just stands with the kind of grace and posture she can expect to enjoy twenty years down the line.

"Cheryl, you're...! I mean, yeah, that's... that's what Becky said." Eileen's only got about thirty questions waiting in the wings for her, but only one of them's really all that important. "Are you?"

"I guess," she says, and leans against the doorjamb. "I'm not hurt."

Leon visits separately from Claire. He doesn't bother to wake her, and only stays for a brief moment. He's not terribly fond of hospitals to begin with, and after running through the one in Silent Hill, he'd much rather avoid them all together. But, he felt the need to check up on Liz and the others.

He does leave her a small gift, in the form of a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. Liz inhaling pure oxygen seems somehow wrong in his mind. He knows the lighter may seem redundant given that it's Liz, but he figured he'd give her the option just in case she was too drained to use her powers.

He doesn't leave a note or anything, though, so she may not realize he was ever even there.
