Is this thing still on?

A test, to see if anyone still reads this thing:

(gacked verbatim from ever_abstractI have always wanted to do this one, but I've held off because I was scared that people wouldn't respond. So, now that I have your attention a wee bit, here goes nothing ( Read more... )

Well, there's always the eternal question: what brought you to LJ? Why keeps you here?

Wow, let's see if I can remember back that far... I think it was maruchina. She and I are best friends and we met when I was writing Harry Potter slash and she was my beta. Also, I'm pretty sure that sentence makes me sound like a tool. Anyway, she convinced me to get LJ to post some fic and get a readership

Well, obviously my interest in writing HP fic, or really, any fanfic in general, waned pretty fast. So I wound up keeping LJ as a useful medium to keep up with people and as a place to write the occasional human-interest piece. (Though I haven't done much of that lately, having been in grad school.)

What a thoughtful question! And while I'm talking to you in the privacy of my own blog, I figured I'd just say that I love your posts about the life of a professional singer--you always have so much humor wrapped up in your frustration, and so much obvious joy and confidence in what you do everywhere else. Brava. :)

Where do you want to be in ten years? Who do you want to be in ten years?

If you woke up tomorrow without a voice, what would you do?

What is the craziest thing you've ever done?

Where? Anywhere in the world. In fact, I'd love to be getting jobs in Europe and the US. What do I want to be? A singer of opera and chamber music. (Oooh, lookit that, it changed a little without my ever noticing.) For the chamber stuff I'd love to be singing Baroque and Classical music everywhere, and while I'm at keep up on my Schoenberg and Webern and Berg. Hopefully by then I might be transitioning into bigger stuff in opera and I'll be doing some of the bel canto roles on top of the Handel and Mozart.

If I woke up tomorrow without a voice at all? I'd be so fucking pissed. I don't even know what I'd do. If I woke up tomorrow with no singing voice I'd probably go into directing or stage management. Or maybe back into acting, but I doubt that.

The craziest thing I've ever done? Oh man, I'll have to think about that and come back to you. I'll mull it over during class and then tell you.

The first three that came to mind I thought were too personal from things I use to know about which while I admit i hardly know you (or you I) anymore.

Who have been your true loves (this doesn't have to just be relationships)?

Do you regret being friends with me in high school?

What is it you feel people should know about you but don't?

And fr an even four; What terrifies you most?

I'll comment simply to let you know that I do read this thing from time to time. And I miss you!! Congrats on the recital!

I will however refrain from asking a question. If I don't know it about you by now, you DON'T want me asking about it in a public forum. ;)

Absolutely no offense intended, but are you really, really bad at responding to e-mail/Facebook mail? ;)
