Another old friend has died, in Shoreline, WA (Seattle neighborhood). Multiple systems failure; I'm not sure if it was the kidneys or congestive heart failure that finally did her in. But after surviving ovarian cancer 17 years ago, she was grateful for the time she had, for her cats and her drawings and her books, and the endless pot of coffee. I ( Read more... )

My cousin, Mary Jeanne O'Brien Virgile, died suddenly on Feb 19, 2024 at age 67. She would have been 68 on March 17.
Gone far too young.

Henry Kissinger is dead. Tom Lehrer said he knew there was no point in writing satire any more when Henry Kissinger won the Nobel Peace Prize. Time passes. Havamal: Men die; cattle die. Reputation lives on.

Ragnar is about to turn 48. Hard to believe I have children this old. Time seems to pass before we know it.

Another old friend gone. Amanda Fisher (Cissa) has died in her sleep. Congestive heart failure.
May the Nature Spirits guide her home; may the Honored Dead welcome her among them; may the High Ones grant her rest, and rebirth in due time. As it was, as it is, as it will be; there will be a returning for her.
