gurl i can't find a job anywhere either so i feel ya. practicing would be good and you could explain that to your mom. you could try and see if you could get a job as just an assistant too starting off. just helping the customers, shampooing hair, combing it, sweeping...until you have confidence to actually do hair. i took cosmetology and could have had a job doing hair and stuff but decided it just wasn't for me. i like doing things to my own hair more than doing things to other peoples hair lol.

First thing I have to say is that, in Germany, doing hair and doing make-up are two different jobs and you have two different educational ways to get to them. I am a cosmetician myself. A friend of mine back from cosmetics school directly started to study hair after she graduated (even though she's not as good at it as she thinks).

I love doing make-up myself, I worked fast and clean and people adored what I came up with (srsly, mostly I just went what would Saga/Uruha do?). But, now, I took one part of the job and deepened it, I'm studying medical foot-care.

To be honest, you need the money, right? Try to work at a salon. Just try. For as much as I know you can get more appointments for what you like and less for what you don't like doing if you talk to your boss, putting emphasis on the fact that you want to do what you're doing best.

Definitely practice first! You wouldn't want to go in on your first day and end up ruining someones hair. Do what you gotta do man!
