You can tell I'm trying to figure out the direction he's going, right? 8D;

KaITO is currently at a transitional stage. When he was damaged, he was convinced that all his problems would be fixed after his repair. However, the reality was the complete opposite. If anything it seemed like his problems doubled. His other emotions came rushing back, overwhelming him. He could feel 'pain', causing him to avoid dangerous situations. There was suddenly a conscience in his system, forcing him to hesitate and feel guilty about his actions ( ... )

ten facts.

I. He's used to having a big, empty space for his chambers, so he spent a day trying to push all the furniture in his hotel room towards the walls.

II. Sometimes he doesn't sleep on the bed -- just curls in a chair or sleeps on the floor (with a pillow).

III. He's actually one of the clingy types when he sleeps. If there's more than one pillow around, he'll wake up holding onto it for dear life. (This is something different from before; before his reprogramming, he was more relaxed and flopped everywhere when he slept.)

IV. He's not sure if he really wants to sing anymore, but he has caught himself almost humming a tune twice already.

V. When he's bored he ends up idly breaking things.

VI. He wonders if Meiko has changed since he last saw her-- and what does it say about him when he can't even tell?

VII. Trying to stop experimenting on people is hard. 8|

VIII. Lately he has woken up feeling very, very confused. It takes at least a minute for him to reorient himself.

IX. On his worse days, he lies ( ... )

madness event.
wouldn't you want to be who you had been?

I. He started out calmer and clearer-minded than usual, almost similar to the way he was before, just a lot more depressed about his situation. He spoke his mind about his feelings on the people who wronged him, and his belief that they deserved what they received. Afterwards, he admitted this was a change in his usual behavior. This was something he was unsure of before the event -- exactly how changed he really was. Additionally, seeing Warum!Kaito reminded him of his violent actions, and subsequently brought back a bit of his negative behavior. That reminder also brought on static that would eventually cloud his thoughts.

II. His mind was still somewhat clear, although the static was now making him rather erratic. Another visit from a negative influence only encouraged his violent thoughts. He remembered how easy it was to commit his first murder. All he had to do was throw away the restraints, which was easy enough due to his damaged system at the time. At this ( ... )

i'm not the [one] you once put your faith in.

IV. Finally free of his restraints, he roamed the hallways for targets to release his anger on. This is also the first time the narrative uses his name 'KaITO'. (This was deliberate, as the clearer and calmer version was too different to call him 'KaITO'.) He is now so full of static that his voice is corrupted with it. The first victim of his wrath is MEIKO, the older sister figure of their Vocaloid 'family'. As he later explains to SONiKA, he illogically killed MEIKO in an effort to show her how dangerous he can be.

However, MEIKO's sacrifice was not in vain. Her guess was correct, actually. His desire to kill someone lessened after her death, and he only lashed out at those who provoked him. He chased down a programmer, harassed little girls, and got along with an old enemy. KaITO was doing rather well until a certain little moron challenged him. Piko berated him and talked him half to death, prompting him to resort to violence. In this encounter, KaITO ( ... )

madness event; after.
staying won't put these futures back together.KaITO remembers everything that happened. He remembers the people who hated him, the people who tried to kill him, and the many things he learned about himself during the ordeal. Although he knows it's impossible, he also remembers dying painfully multiple times. It's too clear in his memory to deny, and he can't ignore the data that supports his many deaths. If he closes his eyes and thinks about the experience, he can feel the sharp pain of being shot, the lacerations on his body from glass, and his chest collapsing on itself. KaITO spent that early morning checking his body for wounds that did not exist. Once he realized he was physically fine, he left the hotel room ( ... )

notes.
→ all this HTML is just to practice and play around with. sorry if it's distracting.

◊ The static represents the corruption from all the mistakes the programmers made. It started out little, and eventually became so overwhelming that he could hardly think straight. This is similar to how he eventually went mad enough to wipe out the employees at the Enrichment Center.

◊ He is very much questioning his reason for staying alive right now, although he isn't suicidal. KaITO wants to live, that much is certain, but a part of him can't help but question why. He'll likely be searching for that reason by the time he returns to the town.

♠ relationships;
The event changed the way he views the people he previously knew.
  • Miku Hatsune
    • After being on the receiving end of her hate, he's wary of her. She was not the Miku he knew during the event -- she was more logical, and that's what makes him hesitate. Is that who she truly is? Underneath all that, is she someone who despises him? Just when he was starting to appreciate her ( ... )
