Tempted. Bad timing.

What with creating a mirror of the Gutenberg Project, I've been more and more tempted lately to pick up a Kindle. I hate reading books on the computer. They tend to not be portable or comfortable for reading, especially when I like to read in many different settings. It makes my eyes hurt. I can see both sides of it. It would be really cool to be able to carry a library around with you. On the other hand, the price (and potential bugs given how new it is), would certainly give me pause. I'd be inclined to wait awhile to let 'em work out any potential problems that come up and hopefully for the price to drop some (like closer to Christmas) and then see about picking one up.

Hmmm......

Dammit, now you've got me thinking about that, too. *sigh*

From all the reviews I read from actual users, it appears that bugs and other downsides are very minor. The price is the only real sticking point for me.

Yeah, new job first. (Or maybe that $1200 economic stimulus joke check.)
